1 January 2018, the National Water Management Holding Polish Waters is created in order to take the sole responsibility for management of water in Poland.
Polish Waters have taken over all responsibilities, rights, dues and obligations of the National Water Management Authority and the regional water management authorities. The new entity was created in accordance with the bill of 20 July 2017 - The Water Law in order to ensure more efficient management of water resources in Poland.
On 2 January, the Minister of Environment, Jan Szyszko appointed deputy heads of Polish Waters: Iwona Koza, Robert Kęsy and Mateusz Balcerowicz. The proxy responsible for the organisation of Polish Waters is Mariusz Gajda.
